Teaching approach
My teaching is strongly grounded in active learning, cognitive psychology, reflective learning, programmatic assessment, and educational neuroscience.
Teaching expertise
I teach and supervise in several connected domains, such as learning and memory, cognitive enhancement, biological psychology, electrophysiology, and research methods in neuroscience.
Educational contributions
I am currently involved in the following educational activities:
- Coordinator of Psychological Literacy, the project-based learning in our bachelor Psychology
- Coordinator of the premaster Psychology (taught in Dutch)
- Member of the Board of Admission of the Master Mental Health
- Member of the Bachelor Curriculum Assessment Committee and curriculum year group Year 2 bachelor Psychology
- Mentor of students in Year 2 and 3 of their bachelor’s program
Future educational ambitions
My aim is to embed the Study Smart training, a training on self-regulated and effective learning developed by the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences, into our educational programs. While we have implemented minor portions into Year 1 of the bachelor Psychology, from next year onwards I will introduce the training into the bachelor Brain Science.
